Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Food & Beverages, Sports and Electricity sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.60%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN), which rose 6.74% or 4.55 points to trade at 72.05 at the close. Meanwhile, Aksa Akrilik Kimya Sanayi AS (IS:AKSA) added 6.68% or 0.81 points to end at 12.94 and Is Yatirim Menkul Degerler AS (IS:ISMEN) was up 6.01% or 2.78 points to 49.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Anadolu Efes Biracilik ve Malt Sanayi AS (IS:AEFES), which fell 9.96% or 21.20 points to trade at 191.60 at the close. AG Anadolu Group Holding (IS:AGHOL) declined 8.41% or 28.75 points to end at 313.00 and Enerjisa Enerji AS (IS:ENJSA) was down 5.91% or 3.70 points to 58.90.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 330 to 233 and 24 ended unchanged.
Shares in Aksa Akrilik Kimya Sanayi AS (IS:AKSA) rose to all time highs; up 6.68% or 0.81 to 12.94. Shares in Is Yatirim Menkul Degerler AS (IS:ISMEN) rose to all time highs; up 6.01% or 2.78 to 49.00.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.67% or 17.56 to $2,635.66 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.75% or 0.53 to hit $71.52 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.69% or 0.51 to trade at $74.50 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.14% to 35.36, while EUR/TRY fell 0.24% to 36.66.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 108.11.
